JORDAN WHITTENBURG NAMED CCC ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

EUGENE, Ore. — Northwest Christian University senior guard Jordan Whittenburg was named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Whittenburg was named the MVP of the William Jessup Invitational after hitting a pair of game-winning shots to lead the Beacons to the tournament title. The 6-3 Whittenburg hit a jumper with six seconds left on Friday to lift NCU to a 75-73 win over William Jessup, then nailed a 12-foot buzzer beater the following day to give the Beacons a 72-70 win over The Master’s College. In two games Whittenburg scored 22 points and hit 5 of 10 3-point field goal attempts.

The is the first CCC honor for Whittenburg and the first Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honor given to a Beacon since Josh Jarrett won the award exactly one year ago.
