VIRTUE Director
Melissa Stock was formerly the director of Evening Service
Instrumental Worship for the Crystal Cathedral in Southern California. In 2003 she
was married to Matthew Stock and moved to Eugene from Southern California, where
she is an adjunct theory and class piano professor for NCU in addition to directing
VIRTUE, the Concert Choir, Community Choir and Chamber Ensemble (also known as the
NCU Dickens Carolers during holiday seasons). Melissa has been a guest speaker for
the National Association of Church Musicians, a seminar speaker for Worship Northwest,
and the worship leader for the Oregon Christian Convention the past two years. She
sang for the White Sox for five years in Chicago, conducted and arranged for the
Hour of Power orchestra at the Crystal Cathedral, and played ragtime piano for Knott’s
Berry Farm. In 2005 she worked on the set of a feature film as a piano coach as
well as recording the soundtrack and being the hand double. She has been touring
with The Stock Brothers to churches and conventions in the Northwest and Southern
California since she moved to Oregon, and is now in the process of helping to produce
their next CD. While living in Orange County, she sang and recorded with The Pacific
Chorale under the direction of John Alexander. Melissa has orchestrated, published,
recorded and arranged music for numerous live shows, numerous ensembles and CD’s
worldwide. She is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, with a degree
in Sacred Music.
