What test must I take prior to beginning the
program?
The CBEST or PPST are used as entry tests for School Counselors.
Upon completion of the program students are required to pass the
School Counseling Praxis prior to licensure.
What is the deadline for application?
Early application deadline is March 15th. Applications may be
accepted until July 1st on a space-available basis.
Will I have an interview?
Yes, with the admissions committee.
How much is it going to cost?
The base tuition for Track I of the School Counseling
program is $24,200. Track II has a base tuition of $27,500. The
base tuition for licensure only is $18,700. There is also an
application fee of $50. Estimated book costs are around $1200.

When will classes meet?
The first semester of the program begins in September.
Classes meet from 5:00 pm - 8:30 pm one night per week in addition
to some Saturdays.
What field experience will I have during the first year?
second year?
Track II and licensure only students participate in a 200 hour
student teaching experience during the second semester. All tracks
participate in an internship during the second year for varying
lengths of time, depending on the track.
How will I be placed?
For student teaching and internships, candidates and faculty work
together to find appropriate placements.
Will I need to quit my job?
Most candidates reduce work hours during the final
semester to complete internship hours.
