Mary has experience in school and community counseling. She
worked as a graduate assistant for Oregon State University where
she was program director for the Corvallis Project, a cooperative
program between OSU and the Corvallis School District. She worked
as a school counselor in the district as well as supervising
Masters level students in their practicum and
internships.
Her community counseling background includes working with
children, adults, couples, and families. She specialized in using
play therapy in her work with children. She worked as the research
editor for the Play Therapy Magazine between 2006 and 2008. She did
a presentation on Play therapy with Children of Trauma at the
Western Area Counselor Educators (WACES) conference in 2006. She
has also been a speaker at women's retreats.
She has taught Introduction to Counseling, Practicum,
Internship, Creative Strategies for Counselors working with Youth,
and Group Counseling.
She has a yellow Labrador Retriever named Faith who has worked
in her practice as a co-therapist.
